Show and Tell Wednesday 18th March 2026

Our March meeting bought with it some quite unique hand crafted items. Quilters are rarely ever just quilters. Most dabble in other fabric art forms and love to have a go at difficult projects.

From hand embroidery to hand bags (well sort of) we have it all.

And a very special Birthday wish this month to our Treasurer Julie.

This month was also our AGM with all positions filled.

Many thanks to Sue, Annette and Julie for continuing on their positions, likely for the last time. Welcome to Chris Butler as the new vice-President and Rennie as our Birthday card co-ordinator. Thanks to Barb and Jenni who stepped out of their roles. Helen will continue as Blog creator this year.

On to the quilts and projects:

Barb took this partially finished top and completed it. If you can zoom in you will see the fabric is cute turtles!

Barb again finishing off a quilt top started by quilter Pat. Barb felt it was too big as one quilt, so created 3. Good vision Barb, well done.

...and then there were 3!

Rhondas bright 16 patch scrappy.

Quilting detail on Rhonda's quilt. What a great pattern for the 16 patch blocks.

A maze ing quilting!

A beautiful reverse embroidery cushion by Chris B.

Repeat of Barbs 3 charity quilts!

Another item by Chris. This bag proved very popular among Burra Retreat participants. Chris's machine not so happy though, it spat out several needles in the making process.

The lovely and very productive Jill with her collapsing thread catcher. Another Burra product.

It may be small, but hey, it's finished!!

Gaile's hand embroderies. Very cute foal.

And who doesn't love a male blue fairy wren.

And finally, Happy 60th Birthday Julie! Hope you plan to share that!!!🍰
