Show and Tell July 2023

Christmas in July

Show and tell this month on our Christmas in July day.
We were treated to some delicious festive food and fabric creations.

Faith's scrappy sampler charity quilt

Gaille's very clever 21st birthday quilt for her motorcycle loving nephew. Note all the stack and slash/kaleidoscope type 4 patch blocks

Joan's cute little fabric bon bon made at Mannum quilt camp

One of our very productive bag ladies!! Chris with a beautiful embroidered bag

Who doesn't love a little blue bird... on anything!

Merlyn has been busy. First item she has to show is a really lovely hexi bag

What a nice way to use up some pretty scraps

Merlyn's very clever sheep needle case. Under the cute cross stitch flap is a card of needles

Merlyn's cute Japanese inspired bunny pin cushion

Jenni Harrison bought in a simple but very effective strip quilt made using William Morris fabrics.

Sue Fowlers very handy purse/card holder made at Mannum

A very simple and pretty charity quilt in blues by Judy. Patterns don't need to be complex to be beautiful

Els showing her very first Japanese quilt.

It may be old, but it just doesn't grow old..... the quilt I mean!!

Quilters have big hearts. Here is proof. This lovely one is a gift for a friend of Kerry's who was seriously injured in an accident. It is bright and cheery .Even though the block makers have never met the recipient, it was made with love and well wishes.

Tricia with a scottish terrier quilt made for her maid of honours 60th birthday. And as always, thoughtfully and beautifully quilted

Another couple of Mannum weekend pieces. This large scrap quilt is a Susan Murphy design called Wanderers Star. The main piece was finished in 2004 so the addition of the two outer borders completes the top ready for some batting and quilting.

Sebastian and his Mannum quilt. Sebastian was our mascot for the Mannum weekend and available for hugs anytime we need it. He had quite the adventure: hung out on a couple of sewing machines, leaned against a very nice bottle and even shimmied into a thread catching bag for a snooze. Mum Sue had admired some of the fabrics in the Wanderers Star quilt, so what do you do.. make Sebastian his own little quilt using some of those scraps. Thanks for the hugs Sebastian and I hope you enjoy your monogramed quilt! H.
