Show and Tell 15 January 2025

Welcome to 2025.

Lets hope that we all have a very productive sewing year, especially as our Exhibition is on in September and we need lots of beautiful quilts and textile crafts to display.

Our first meeting back for the year was eventually fairly well attended and although only a few items were on show, they are all amazing.

Di Clarke with the first of several finished charity quilts. Di is a very productive quilt maker and loves to try lots of different patterns.

This one here is a brick pattern inspired by Amy Smart (diaryofaquilter.com). It uses strips or fat quarters. Di used Mickey mouse prints as the feature fabric here.

Clever use of left over pieces making an interesting backing. Notice also the quilting. Very simple and fast.

Quilt 1 of two with a diagonal layout. Those greens really add some pop.

Quilt 2 Very eye catching in pinks with the orange pops of colour

Di was having issues with the layout of this one, but a visit from her son resulted in him sorting it out. Son's can be handy sometimes!

The blocks in these quilt were intended for a much larger quilt but Di decided to make several smaller pieces rather than just 1 very large one. This quilt finished with a black and white border.

This one with a mottled red and black border.

The brick pattern again. This time using poppy flowers as the main theme.

Di's wonky stars used to make a coaster.

Sandy showed this pastel quilt made by Rhonda. There are 320 squares in this quilt.

Patricia's geckos made using her embroidery machine. Too cute!

Look at that gorgeous tail.

Sue Medlow with a simple but gorgeous rail fence in mostly blues. Seems to be a theme of bright colour splashes in this months showings.

Sues black and white four patch. Don't those red corner stones and binding really give it some life.
