This month's theme was to bring your first quilt or hand crafted item. We had some first items and a few regular show and tell.

Baby quilt by Helen's granddaughter Ella.

I started piecing these blocks at the start of the year as practice blocks for a much bigger quilt for my daughter in law. My eldest grandy Ella mentioned she would like to make a quilt for her friends baby so I donated the partly finished blocks. Ella has taken like a duck to water with the piecing. Still needs to be quilted and bound but well on it's way. When she gets a break from Uni assignments, hopefully it will get finished!!

Bag and cat pieces by Els. Just because she could! Pattern found on internet and reduced in size.

Jans squares quilts.... lots of them!!
The square quilts have been backed with polar fleece rather than batting and backing. They will go to Palliative care patients. What a lovey gesture.

Same pattern, different fabrics. Such a different look.

Simple and stunning knitted squares blankets by Jan.

This quilt is just amazing. Tumbling blocks. Hand Pieced and quilted by Jan.

Quilting detail. Beautiful.

Glenda's pretty foundation pieced cushion. Tutored by Jan a longtime ago!

Sue Fowlers first quilt, whilst in hospital no less! What determination.

Chris Adley with her overlocker tension and stitch length trial pieces. She gave a great explanation on how to do it. Start with manufacturers recommendation and then change tension to 0 and work your way up from there marking the best stitches on the piece.... or something like that!!  I'm sure she will happily explain it to anyone who wasn't there or didn't quite understand it.

Chris' lovely quilted vest. The variegated colour of the fabric really gives it movement.

Merlyn's "mystery "shawl. Mostly because it has mystery holes and mystery patterns in it!

Annette with a lovely bright scrappy 4 patch made by her 2 granddaughters. It's so cheery.

Annettes' friendship quilt from many years ago when the club met in Woodside. It took many years to finish... as they all do, but what a great piece.

Anne Riddles absolutely stunning and huge wholecloth and quilted piece. Centre detail

Corner detail

It really is a very large piece of fabric!!

Sonia's cow quilt. Every cow has a name. On left: Cow Belle, Cowslip and Bullaring. On right Bulldozer, Holy Cow and Cowlick. Such a cute piece.

Beautiful Japanese ladies by Judy Collins

Fun giraffe panel quilt by Tricia Owen

Sweet swirl quilting design on giraffe quilt.

Els cats

.. and bag

This stunning quilt by Sue Medlow for her mothers 80th Birthday.

The amazing backing on Sue's quilt with a lifetime of memories and messages of love.

Sue's horses quilt for her animal loving granddaughter Taylor

Sue's hearts quilt for her daughter Annette

Judy's patchwork bag. There may be a workshop coming for this one.
