Show and Tell and Biggest Morning Tea 15 May 2024

What a wonderful morning we were treated to.

36 ladies including about 6 from Piccadilly Quilters enjoyed an amazing spread of morning tea, a lot of laughs, a very difficult quiz and a good old spend up at the trading table.

We were lucky to also have a display of some very diverse but beautiful quilts, pincushions and other ornaments made by the amazing Jan Porter. Thank you Jan for sharing your creations.

We didn't quite get into a big show and tell, but we still have a few photos, including from our April meeting where only one person bought along something to share.

One of the very special things about quilters is that they love to support people in times of need. Many of the group made a block which Gaile pieced into a beautiful memory quilt for Francene who has had a rough trot. So many clever and beautiful blocks in here representing parts of Francene's life. 💝

Jan's magnificent applique work.

All hand quilted. Just how many hours must have been put into this is mind boggling.

Looking for scrappy inspiration? This is it!

This stunning poppy applique on wholecloth received a second place award at the Quilters Guild Festival of Quilts 2016 in the Amateur Large Applique section. Well deserved Jan.

More of Jans display. Who knew pin cushions could come in so many shapes and sizes and be just so pretty.

We didn't have a formal show and tell, but I did find one quilt that has been recently finished and off to it's recipient shortly. Thanks Faith. Yet another one of your very diverse creations. All the clown blocks have been grid quilted in about a half inch grid. That's a lot of sewing!
