Show and Tell 20 March 2024

Lots of varied items were shown this month. From

Jan's mid 90s crazy patch to a modern rope basket by Sandy.

Jans amazing Crazy Patch

So much detail has been added to each block. Beautiful piece Jan

Some more of Jan's work. More of the hexagon bags. Each one so different.

Sandy and her simple rope basket.

Look at that beautiful detail in the rope coil.

Sue bought in some quilt as you go projects for us to consider doing some time in the future.

A Christmas themed QAYG

Quilting detail

Sue's scrappy 4 patch

...... and what do you do with all the left over blocks? Put them into the back of the quilt of course!

Sue bought in a work in progress which is a kaleidescope quilt. We hope to do a workshop in this sometime this year.

The lovely birds made for Mary Potter Hospice. When a patient "leaves" one of these birds is hung up in memory.

Chris modelling her beautiful flowy skirt made with fabric bought in when someone was having a clean out.

Very classy.

Reni's soft blues quilt. This one started life being a bit of a challenge just getting it cut following the not so clear instructions. The finished product is just lovely. Reni has made this one for herself.

Merlyn's busy triangles quilt. Another of the Bedford patterns.

Sooo many points!

Show and tell February 2024

February saw a few finished projects, again all so diverse.

Sue Medlow finished off a few projects and bought them in a week before the meeting as they were going to their new homes before the meeting.

Great use of all those animal prints framed with the colours of the earth

Sue's checkered  blue and yellow quilt. Love the way a quilt can grow with the addition of borders.

Back of the blue and yellow quilt. Great way to use up the scraps from the project.

Sue with her amazing hexi quilt. Love the way the red borders this one.

Margaret Frys beautiful in blues quilt. Placing those 4 patches on point gives this quilt real movement. This pattern would lend itself to a really scrappy quilt too.

Francine's fun underwater/ pond scene. This one has been a couple of years in the making.

Some of the quilting detail.

Barb's scrappy using up left over blocks from last years raffle quilt.

Another scrappy from Barb. There is a lot going on in this quilt.

Hexagons featuring again. Chrissy made these beautiful little pouches.

..... and this lovely tote bag.
