Show and Tell May 2026 and Biggest Morning Tea fundraiser (proceeds to Cancer Council)

Our May meeting was well attended by not only our members but some ladies from Picadilly Quilters who joined us for our Biggest Morning Tea fundraiser.

We enjoyed a lovely morning tea, spent well on our trading table, much of which was fabric donated to the group from the stash of late member Judy Collins, viewed some gorgeous quilts and craft items and just had a nice morning chatting away.

Many thanks to who all attended, donated and spent as we raised approximately $1000 to donate to this very worthwhile charity.

Enjoy the photos from our show and tell. As we are now in winter at the time of posting this, if you are listening to the sound of rain on your rooftop: rejoice, we certainly need the rain for our farmers and our dams!

The very happy and busy attendees at our Biggest Morning Tea

Chris Butlers "sayings" 'quilt for her grandaughter. It has several quotes on it such as Be kind, be thoughtful etc

Merlyn' s wonky stars quilt. She learned this pattern at last years Rural Roundup.

Lee's very nice triangle bag.

Scrappy applique stars

What a lovely overall pattern

Faiths itsy bitsy charity quilt. This pattern is also a Bedford Quilts pattern. Possibly also known as floating squares and square in a square.

Gaile with her bag in blues. Quite the project this one.

This lovely little bag by Gaile for her grandaughter to put her crochet gear in has possibly the most complicated zip in the world!

See, I said it was for crochet gear!

This vibrant scrappy by Tricia used a very clever idea to overcome lack of fabric for the borders. Note that bright yellow in the top left. Lining it up with the yellow half square triangle in that top left block really ties it in.

Remi with surprise, surprise, a Port Power bag!

Helen with her scrap zipper bag. The lump sum of progress at a 3 day Mannum retreat. Look at the pride. Absolute champion right there!

Oh now, the winner of show and tell this month. Ok it's not a competition, but Francene still wins! This truly stunning bag has different scenes on all four sides.

This quilt was donated to the group by a former member and we will be donating it in turn to the Lions Club as a prize in their Christmas raffle. Be sure to buy your tickets, it is a lovely quilt, who wouldn't want it!
