Show and Tell & Mary Potter Foundation visit to receive quilts 16 September 2026

 Welcome to Spring!

Our September meeting was attended by many of our club members and several ladies from Piccadilly Quilters. We also welcomed Julie-Ann from the Mary Potter Foundation, the group that co-ordinates quilt colloection for the Mary Potter Hospice and other hospice locations to talk about their work and collect a large haul of quilts made by our own group and Piccadilly members too. We were also able to donate around 20 doves made by memebers that the hospice uses to signify when a patient has passed away.

We enjoyed a delicious baked potato lunch organised by Sue and Chris. This was also the last formal meeting held at the Inverbrackie location. Over the next couple of weeks, a crew will be moving our cupboards and belongings accross to our new home at the Lutheran Church in Woodside.

Julie-Ann explained that the rooms are made up with a quilt, fresh flowers and a welcome pack for the patients. The purple piece of paper shows the labels that go on to each quilt.

The very vibant finished product.

Sometimes the stars just align. As it happened, Tricia and Helen were going to be in and around the Grange area the same time so arranged to catch up for a stroll along the beach. This was what we got to enjoy. An absolutely stunning sunny wind free morning and the ocean was like glass. We really do live in a beautiful part of the world, waking up to our hills environment and being able to walk on sand in under an hour.
